Troy, NY Union Station in 1958-1959

​The final years of the Troy Union RR and Troy passenger station, seen through the lens of a worker (my former neighbor's father - R.I.P. Al). To find any pictures or film of the T.U.RR, or the NYC Troy and Schenectady branch is incredibly rare; and while I have seen a couple of film shots taken in Troy with steam, I can't find photos or film of the T&S branch from the steam era (specifically 1930s-desilization) to save my life. My father grew up on Manor Ave., Cohoes right next to the T&S, and as a kid would often get a ride home in the cab from High St.-Manor Ave. A large mikado (#1214...?) was assigned to this branch, and my father for most of his life would have sworn it was a Mohawk, and I would love to find a picture for him to enjoy and remember. Sadly, the only pictures I can find/print are from historian Steve Lackman from the very last years in Penn Central/D&H operation, which are a miracle and greatly appreciated; but if there is anyone out there who has anything steam related from the T&S, Green Island, Colonie/Watervliet, Menands, Albany, Cohoes, Waterford, and/or Troy, that hasn't already been in a Jim Shaughnessy book, if you could share, that would be amazing and greatly cherished. Sharing this is something I've been wanting to do, as again, this particular area is funny about shreding up 19th-20th Century history w/out regard to the historical appreciations of future generations, and w/out photographic/cinematographic records - especially with the railroads, as some changes that generally didn't occur until the late 60's nationwide were occuring throughout the 50's and early 60's here, and nobody gave a second thought that it was changing forever.
