It’s History- Bellows Falls, Vermont

Many of us have probably visited Bellows Falls in the past for various reasons, possibly to ride the steam excursion at Steamtown, USA, or the diesel excursions in later years. Some of us passed through while riding the Vermonter. Many photographs were taken at the depot, the Steamtown museum at Riverside, and the Vermont Rail System facilities across the river in North Walpole, NH.
Things have changed over the past decades, Steamtown has moved to
Scranton, PA, and the Green Mountain Railroad excursions to Chester are a thing of the past. On the positive side, the Amtrak Vermonter still calls at the depot twice daily, and there are a number of freight trains that pass and
interchange between the Vermont Rail System and the New England Central RR. Bellows Falls has a rich railroad history, and below are four links that will bring back the history of this village in the town of Rockingham. I hope you find the videos enjoyable.
